TDEA implemented a State of Governance in Pakistan (SOGIP) project. SOGIP aimed to understand the mechanics and dynamics of development and citizens’ needs and participation at various levels of governance. With a household survey in 111 districts and stakeholders’ interviews, the evidence-based assessment helped inform priority governance areas for the second phase of the project. More specifically, weak and non-participatory local governance systems in the four provinces and the capital were focused in the governance reform advocacy phase. The two phases furnished a substantial base for civil society organizations and citizens’ input in the call for reforms in governance structures and policies aimed at efficient and equitable resource allocation. project represents a significant effort to assess, analyze, and advocate for improved governance in Pakistan through an evidence-based reform agenda and advocacy in the days to come.
