Mr. Shehzad Anwer has worked as a development practitioner and researcher in Pakistan, with elections, parliamentary observation and rights-based advocacy as the key areas of his professional experience. Working at Trust for Democratic Education and Accountability (TDEA), one of the key highlights of Mr. Anwer’s work was the pioneering of the first-of-its-kind Parliamentary Observation, Research and Reforms Management Information Portal. In various capacities, he has contributed to electoral and political violence research, election observation, and governance monitoring.
Over the last seven years at TDEA, Mr. Anwer has contributed to designing and implementing various projects and initiatives, including TDEA-FAFEN’s election observation in 2013 and 2018, and trainings of over 60,000 citizen-observers based on a comprehensive election curriculum. He has also directly observed several by-elections held between 2010 and 2019 in interior regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Punjab. Having been actively engaged with international development partners, he is also familiar with the technical reporting requirements of major funding organizations including DFID, EU and USAID.
