ILMPOSSIBLE Take a Child to School (TACS)

The British Council is managing the ILMPOSSIBLE Take a Child to School (TACS) project with the support of consortium partners by aiming to scale up the retention and monitoring of the original 189,000 enrolled children in phase-I, plus the enrollment monitoring of an additional 200,000 out of school children (aged 5 to 11 years) across 70 districts in Pakistan by December 2019, with a ratio of 40% girls and 60% boys.

Community Leadership Development Programme (CLDP)

TDEA-FAFEN is implementing the 14-month Community Leadership Development Programme (CLDP) in eight districts – Mardan, Nowshera, Peshawar, Swabi and Swat of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Hyderabad, Jamshoro, and Matyari of Sindh province. The Programme focuses on issues of Gender Based Violence (GBV) in project districts and aims to capacitate and engage elected local government representatives and other community leaders for an active role to address GBV in their communities.

Women’s Action for Better Workplaces

Women’s Action for Better Workplaces (WAction)” is aiming to enhance capacities of women workers and their organisations to negotiate and advocate with employers, policy-makers and legislators for improved working conditions for women. Five cross sectoral alliances have been established in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta and Islamabad to take up issues with concerned authorities.

TDEA-FAFEN raised the standards of citizens’ election observation in Pakistan during the General Elections process in 2013 through its project Long Term Election Observation and Oversight (LETOOP). TDEA’s nationwide methodology was based on national election laws and procedures of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Pakistan’s ratification in 2010 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) and the 2012 Declaration of Global Principles and Code of Conduct for Non-Partisan Election Observation and Monitoring by Citizen Organizations.
