Job Description

Job Objective:
The Research & Report Writing Assistant will be responsible for drafting analytical and quantitative research reports under the guidelines and direction of the Thematic Lead.
S/he will be contributing to developing reports as per the analytical framework of the research papers/reports/briefs and will work under the supervision of the Thematic Lead, Research and Reporting (R&R).
Main Responsibilities:
Research Reports:
Conduct desk and background research and extract the required information and references as per the guidelines and the framework of the research
Draft text to explain and elaborate the data tables and graphs as per the paper’s/report’s objective, framework and guidelines
Briefs & presentations:
Draft briefs, original/extracted from larger research/reports as per the supervisors’ guidelines
Draft presentations, memos, and articles under guidelines from the supervisor
Web Content:
Draft contents for websites, blogs and social media posts as per the guidelines provided by the supervisor
Misc. /General Tasks:
Coordinate with field teams for additional information and requirements not covered in the available datasets if and when required
Make field visits for gathering first-hand information if and when required
Coordinate with thematic units and focal persons on matters requiring collaboration/coordination if and when assigned the responsibility
To read and keep him/herself updated on core issues areas of interest and research, especially regarding elections and parliament related matters.
To perform any other task assigned by the Supervisor/Team Lead/Director Programs.
Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies:
Preferably fresh Master’s degree in social sciences or the relevant field; or Bachelor’s degree with two years of relevant experience;
Strong analytical, reporting and writing skills;
Strong acumen of research;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels (including drafting and presentation)
Well versed in use of Ms. Office (Ms. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Ability to work in a team and independently;
Ability to work under pressure and stressful situations;
Detailed orientation, good time management skills;
Fluency in English and Urdu required.
